Council of Australian Governments (COAG)
The Council of Australian Governments (COAG) is the peak intergovernmental forum in Australia. COAG comprises the Prime Minister, State Premiers, Territory Chief Ministers and the President of the Australian Local Government Association (ALGA). The role of COAG is to initiate, develop and monitor the implementation of policy reforms that are of national significance and which require cooperative action by Australian governments
Department of Education, Science and Training (DEST)
The Department of Education, Science and Training (DEST) provides national leadership and works in collaboration with the States and Territories, industry, other agencies and the community in support of the Government's objectives. It develops and implements policies to ensure the continuing relevance of education, science and training to contemporary needs and the growing requirement for lifelong learning

The Education Portal is the online entry point to a comprehensive array of Australian Government information and services concerning all aspects and levels of education in Australia. In particular, it focuses on Australian Government policies, programmes, events, publications and resourcing. National Drug Strategy
The National Drug Strategy, a cooperative venture between Australian, State and Territory Governments and the non-government sector, is aimed at improving health, social and economic outcomes for Australians by preventing the uptake of harmful drug use and reducing the harmful effects of licit and illicit drugs in our society
Natural Resource Management (NRM)
The Natural Resource Management web site is hosted by the Australian Government and provides information about the integrated implementation of the Natural Heritage Trust (NHT) and the National Action Plan for Salinity and Water Quality (NAP). The NAP and the NHT are cooperatively implemented by the Australian, State and Territory Governments
National Water Commission (NWC)
The National Water Commission is responsible for helping to drive national water reform and advising the Prime Minister and State and Territory governments on water issues. This site provides information about the Commission, including information on the National Water Initiative and Australian Government Water Fund programmes
Review of Government Service Provision
The Review of Government Service Provision was initiated by the Prime Minister, Premiers and Chief Ministers at the Premiers' Conference in July 1993 and operates under the auspices of the Council of Australian Governments. The Steering Committee for the Review was established in 1994 to manage the Review. It comprises senior representatives from Australian, State and Territory governments and is chaired by the Chairman of the Productivity Commission
